The words of a well-known chorus –
Open our eyes Lord,
I want to see Jesus
To reach out and touch Him
And say that I love Him.
If Jesus was to physically appear before us would we recognize Him? Quite possibly not. Mary Magdalene didn’t – until He spoke her name and then she turned to Him with overwhelming recognition. Mary longed for Him. She was yearning to be with Him again. And He responded.
Let us take time this Easter to wander in a garden and let the yearning of our hearts reach Him. May our eyes be opened to see. May our ears hear him speak our name. May our hearts be poured out in love and devotion.
