Leadership sets the stage for all church development
Leadership style determines mindsets of the fellowship
Leadership is a gift – not a hierarchical position
Plural (collegiate) leadership appears the normal for local churches in the NT
Leadership does not imply status – or “lording over”, it is a servant hood role – it is a coaching role
Spiritual authority is about character development and discipleship, not about control
The priesthood of all believers to be established – not just lip service
Function is ministry and likewise ministry is by function, (including work)
Function implies gifting and calling for that function
Participation of all believers, all have a part in the body, and each part is valuable
The local church exists to serve outside itself
The local church is a means to an end e.g. the body encouragement and ministry development – not an end in itself
