Hi Bessie…

Just wanted to let you know about our home group.
We have a home group that meets at our place in Kalorama. (vic)
Around 10 or so of us have been meeting for nearly a year now.
We meet at 4 pm on a Saturday afternoon and originally intended that we would go to around 6pm.
Can’t remember when we finished then however, as nobody begins to leave till around 7 or 8 pm.
If no body wants to leave, I’m happy. Says something must  be working.
Can’t say it was that way when I went to traditional church. I was usually thinking of lunch by around 11 am.

We endeavor to follow a New Testament model where everybody contributes in some way. The main focus however, is on building the community and listening or waiting on the Holy Spirit.

There is always a table of food where folk pick away and of course, there has to be good coffee or cool drinks.
David Benner in his book Care of Souls, says that our personhood and our spirituality are inextricably linked and should never be separated. Consequently, we find that when touching base with each person’s life and their experience during the past week, inevitably issues arise which call for prayer. These two processes, have helped us to grow as persons in our walk with Jesus, developing intimacy and faith with Him, the  Father and the Spirit.

It’s a lot of fun. We’d be happy to have anybody visit.
Occasionally we visit other groups as a whole, or go somewhere when others can’t get out, or where we need to pray.
So if anybody wants to visit, it would pay to give us a ring, just to check where we’ll be and get directions.
Appreciate the mag.
Peace and Grace to you.
Ray
