The Anabaptist Conference was held in Perth this last weekend. I had the privilege of being there and I was quite excited at the emphases on basic issues to do with church that are soooo home church oriented! The Radical Reformation with its focus on getting back to what Jesus said did and taught, and discipleship to him and to one another, brings practices of being church that the earliest church would recognise. And that of course is the way of church for the current move of God in reforming His church in our day to small and relational. I thoroughly recommend home churches hop on to the web site and into the members section and download ‘Body Politics’ (summarised excellently by Nathan Hobby of PAF), which was the text used for the conference. Or access it via the Blog entry below. The Perth Anabaptist Fellowship (home churches) organised the conference and did so brilliantly. It was a very happy and enjoyable time for everyone there, and the use of ‘local talent’ as speakers gave a fresh and challenging input. Well done! The conference will be in Melbourne in two year’s time and will have a very strong Anabaptist/home church flavour - and a hard act to follow!
